You see, the price can only fall so much and then you either (1) don;t get any pot or (2) the price goes back up because of a lack of supply. Fuck you man. Grow your own and see how fucking easy it is to grow all top shelf shit (or no one wants it) pay your power bills, medical bills, rent (which is sky high in Humboldt), and all the rest of your overhead. Think about it. 250 lb for trimmers at 50lbs a year. That's 12, 500 right there. Outdoor goes for around 1800-2000lbs now. So 100, 000 for a season of work. Minus 13, 000 for trimming. Now you're down to 87, 000. 35% to the land owner. Now you're down to 56, 000.

Now add up your rent for the year, another 10-12, 000 easy. now you're down to 46, 000. Now add in your living expenses, insurance, medical bills, food, clothing, vehicle. I mean now that Grower has around 36K to live on for a year, no savings, no land, no retirement, and a hell of a lot of work. Also, he's constantly living underground (with no Gf, or really any type of real relationship because at some point people start getting into your business) so as not to get taken down by the law or other people trying to rip him off. It's like living in the fucking jungle. Everyone wants a piece of your ass, including PG&E. It's mainly a very isolated and lonely life, with no future except to "blow it up again."

And it's not like he takes 6 months off. Immediately he's getting ready for next season, looking for clones, getting supplies, maybe having to move and look for another land owner, all of that bullshit.

It's true, people made a lot of money in the past and the worked their asses of for it, but it ain't like that any more. Prices have already dropped 30% in 2010 from 2009. I expect this year outdoor will force the price of a lb to all new lows, like 1200 or so. Indoor growers can't compete with that price and end up stating till summer, or giving their crop away.

There is a lot of poverty among growers. Indoor residential needs about 2500 a lb to stay in business. Grow your fucking own and then come tell us about it. While you're at it, grow your own food too and see how easy that is. Nothing is free man.

Holy fuck man you can write. That was fun, and after a degree in philosophy and 6 years of post grad, I decreed in 2011, as my new years resolution, to never read anything again, unless it was a manual of some sort. Laughed so hard at this because I've seen it: Daisy Duke shorts with his balls hanging out. . . ." Everything you wrote is so true. I think it's funny that The Growers have this wonderful idea that they'll increase their grow to make up for falling prices when that is the exact reason prices are falling anyway--more supply! LOL

This is like stories they used to have in the HT. Haven't read that in a long while and haven't seen such a story in a longer while except on vice; that one was set in New Zealand. Things are tough all over. I say if they can find it, let them take it. If I find it, shame on you and don't shoot me. It's not worth killing over. There's always next summer. Unless you're dead or in prison. If Arthur wants to stay alive by hosting a breeders' cup, put some word out on the dl at yod's or something.
